HATE

Believe it or not, a school board member, has in his or her power, the ability to quietly besmirch one’s reputation. This based on how they choose to share or not to share gossip, for instance. I suppose that I come from areas and a background where those elected to such office are more sophisticated and ruled by stronger local dictates. Read the rest of this entry »

This is A Torta, A Mexican Torta!

As you cross the Sellar Bridge, headed in a Westerly direction, directly ahead at the three-way, in a green building you will find the TORTERIA, La Tortuga Loca. Their food is common to the Mexico City Area. It is very fresh and hits the spot. There are less than ten tables inside the restaurant and they specialize in sandwiches, Tortas. Many of the sandwiches feature meat, sausage and cheese, among other items, including beans, onion, tomato, Mayo and Chipoltle, sauce or salsa. Read the rest of this entry »

PRICE_MATCH

Early Saturday evening I went shopping for some little extras. While in Office Depot, I noticed that my new printer, recently purchased at Staples, was on sale for less. After looking around a bit more, I decided to drive over to Staples. I just happened to have all of my relevant paperwork with me, from the recent purchase. Read the rest of this entry »

TRACTION

Last week I sat down with Sebastian Moraga, writer / reporter for the Cashmere Record. The interview lasted approximately 90 minutes. I probably went off the record for 10 minutes. I did not write the piece, nor did I have any opportunity to edit the piece, which only makes sense. That is fine with me. I was OK with the written version even if I would have emphasized some additional aspects of my campaign. Read the rest of this entry »

BALLOTS

I received my Primary ballot in the mail today. My race for District 2 County Commissioner is listed on the back of the two-sided ballot. You need to check both sides for all of the races. For the primary, my race is only listed for District 2 voters. However, in the General election all three districts will be able to vote in that District 2 race. Read the rest of this entry »

REBEL

Chicago, Il is President Obama’s adopted hometown. This July, so far, there have been 120 shootings and 26 murders, connected to those shootings. Blacks in the city have little if any hope. Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy seem to be either helpless or just unplugged. Where is the adult supervision in the Windy City at this time of need? CLINT

Earlier this morning, Tuesday, July 15, I heard Clint Didier’s ad on the radio, KPQ. I have to admit that I liked it and he hit on a number of issues that scorched Dan Newhouse, without mentioning his name. The ad was to the point and painted a very sweet conservative picture of the former NFL player. Read the rest of this entry »

Late this morning, Tuesday, Sadie, pictured, above, on the far left, and I wandered unexpectedly into a gathering of the Wenatchee version of Skyhawk nation. These young children are participating in a week long soccer camp, at Walla Walla Point Park. At the time they were seated under cover, getting away from the burning sun. They were more than twenty strong with a contingent of coaches. As Sadie approached, tail wagging. A number of young Skyhawks closed in to admire my dog. Read the rest of this entry »

STEAL

Campaign signs cost money. I only have a few up so far and this blog is not about any problem that I am having; I am not having any problem with stolen signs. However, I am hearing from independent voices and they tell me that in a particular race where shrill voices have been heard, that a candidate’s signs in particular legal locations have been disappearing at an all too unacceptable rate. This seems to be a particular trend in that part of the county in question. Read the rest of this entry »
