PULLED_PORK

Yesterday I did something special. I made pulled pork for BBQ type sandwiches in just a few hours, six, with my crockpot. I know, I violated some of the cardinal rules of BBQ purists. So what! The finished product is not only uber delicious, it is also very easy to make, using this format. First I chose to use those so-called Country style ribs as my pork. These were boneless cuts but he bone-in variety would be just as appropriate. Read the rest of this entry »

WOLVES

In Wednesday’s The Wenatchee World, Julanne Burts of Douglas County, wrote a scathing letter to the editor that takes Miles Darlington, East Wenatchee, to task. Unfortunately, when a certain segment of almost any population hears something, reads something or sees something, they form judgments that might later prove to be false. As per usual, I have a candidate in this race and know, all too well, the politics of a particular ilk in Douglas County. Read the rest of this entry »

DSC00780 - Copy

Today, July 26, I decided that it was time to make another batch of my favorite Louisiana dish; Red Beans and Rice. I use Tony Chachere’s Creole seasoning along with small red beans from URM, in the four pound bag. I also use two bay leaves, in a gallon container from URM, and a pinch of baking soda, once the beans are in and the water comes to a rolling boil. Read the rest of this entry »

August-Calendar-2014

Thanks to a conscientious reader this blog is baloney. A credible source for the blog sent this to me months ago and I used it yesterday just to add some relief from the political season. Well, I do apologize and offer the following to straighten things out. Again, the blog makes mistakes but not often. When mistakes are made, I quickly and honestly correct them. Click here to see the real truth. I was obligingly hornswoggled. I have been taken in by an Urban Myth, I apologize deeply for that! Read the rest of this entry »

Peel The Layers!!!

Peel The Layers!!!

This blog is a compilation of all of those blogs, to date, that have been dedicated to my District 2 race against three time incumbent Keith Goehner. These blogs talk about the issues that Mr. Goehner has embraced over the past twelve years. The blogs also discuss my proposed remedies and bring to light the outrage that voters should be feeling about the lunacy that has shown the current commissioner as both inept and ill prepared. TRUST_ME

Why am I hearing from previously disinterested voters, all about the Douglas County Clerk’s race? Yes, I have, in an editorial board meeting of the blog, endorsed Laurie Miller. I like Laurie’s wide range of experience and her familiarity with two different Clerk’s offices. Laurie will bring energy and ideas to the office of Douglas County Clerk along with a professional demeanor. I also like the notion that Laurie’s campaign seems to be on the straight and narrow, unlike that of her opponent, Tristen Worthen. Read the rest of this entry »

Chuck Slowe's The Choice!!!

Chuck Slowe’s The Choice!!!

The following is my pledge to the citizens of Chelan County. I am not going to condone business as usual. My opponent appears to dismiss the past twelve years by arguing that better decisions have been made recently. I would tend to argue that he has failed to clean up the mess that he is, in part, responsible for making. Read the rest of this entry »

Mediocrity, Not An Admirable Trait!

Mediocrity, Not An Admirable Trait!

It appears that the Chelan County Commissioners, back in 2003, could not wait until they were able to fire then Chelan County Fair Director Carla Carey. I agree that declining attendance was an issue but what was the purported solution? When all of this was finally arranged, did the commissioners, including Mr. Goehner, have a sure fire business model in mind? Read the rest of this entry »

PROFESSIONAL_POLITICIANS

Either way, the voters of Chelan County have an opportunity to send an overwhelming message to my opponent, the great pretender. My opponent, contrary to his own beliefs, has been absent for most of the past twelve years. I am concerned that my opponent has not been intellectually engaged in those most important aspects surrounding Chelan County. Read the rest of this entry »

IGNORANCE

In today’s, July 23, Cashmere Valley Record Keith Goehner offered a rather rosy assessment of his time in office. He offered some rather silly responses and, as expected, he failed to mention all of those issues where he actually falls significantly short. He failed to discuss the situation, in depth, surrounding the Planning Department, the Regional Jail and those costs associated with the incorporated community policing. In all of those situations, in terms of my view, he has failed miserably to explain why things have gone so woefully wrong. Read the rest of this entry »
