……….As per usual, MSNBC, part of the NBC networks Presidential mouthpiece, is continuing to push, on-air, for the far left’s health care initiatives. It started, weeks ago, with Keith Olbermann’s Count Down. It moved to The Rachel Maddow Show and now it continues today with The Ed Show. Ed was doing a remote at a free health care clinic and he was interviewing some of the patients. I am not here to say that health care reform is not a pressing issue that needs to be dealt with intelligently. However, the legislation that the far left is continuing to promote is not only impractical & flawed, it will destroy the best elements of the current system.
……….In the end, if this legislation moves ahead as formulated, we will all have the same level of health care, with the exception of the rich. We will all have a sub standard system that rations the health care that we receive. Rationing will not be what most of you think of, when I use that word. With the rationing aspect, you will be offered fewer appointments with longer waiting times. In the event of a serious diagnosis, true medical assistance might be delayed for critical months or even years. Certain medications or procedures might be denied based on age and / or severity of the affliction.
……….The GE Network, NBC, has decided to, rather than engage in professional journalism, provide a means, through its news media outlets, for the Obama White House, that does the heavy lifting on certain legislative issues. Health Care is one of those target legislative battles where their on air personalities are much like a PR unit working in concert with a certain segment of Congress. Their viewers will have access to anecdotes that serve to further the point of the Obama Administration. Their stories, as presented, will be one sided and the debate will not exist in any practical sense.
……….That is what I expect when I spend time viewing MSNBC. They do a reasonably decent job of propagandizing the left’s political line. On the other hand, I like to see proper & intelligent debate. Unfortunately, that is something that hardly ever happens. The brightest people in America are not members of the United States Congress. Instead, we are left to watch political hacks on either side of the aisle. These hacks are often mouthpieces for special interest groups like Unions, large lobbying interests and others with a relatively small but very potent list of agenda items.
……….No matter how compelling the arguments sound that are being put forth, when there is no opportunity to question the approach(es) being considered, then the marginal thinker will have no means for developing a tight argument based on the merits. The difference between an insightful person and a dupe is that the person expressing insight is the one most likely to see the big picture, rather than just a small sliver pertinent to any real debate. Decide for yourself, stick to just one channel or network and you will be rewarded appropriately, with an ignorant position where the opposition point of views are excluded.
