………Dirty Harry is having some very real problems getting the Senate debate started regarding health care. It is now being reporting that encrypted in the Senate version of the bill is a specific amount of federal money being offered to the state of Louisiana for Senator Mary Landrieu’s support to begin the health care debate. The $100 million price tag is egregious.

………Senators Landrieu (D,LA) and Lincoln (D,AR) are the only two Democrat holdouts as of now. Lincoln is under great pressure in her home state of Arkansas to not support any aspect of this bogus bill. She is up for re-election in 2010 and the White House is also threatening her without any notion of attempting to hide it from the public. That stupid strategy may backfire in the face of this President and his goons. Lincoln will probably not be re-elected as things now stand and with the President threatening her, that might sit well in the state either.

………The more scrutiny the Senate version of the bill is getting the more likely that it will not be embraced by a number of Democrat Senators. If it ever sees the light of day in a Conference Committee, all hell might be expected to break loose in both houses of Congress. Either way, the Democrats are the ones headed off the ledge. They seem to have this stupid notion that lying will make things better. I cannot understand nor appreciate the notion of fabricating the truth, in order to bring people on board. One recent public opinion poll shows that public support for a House or Senate bill has about 35% support. That is not what a pragmatic politician might wish to hear.
