………Hang onto your wallets, the House of Representatives is in session today and Nancy Pelosi the hopeless Witch of the Neanderthals is whipping up her dreaded brew. The vote, if it does eventually come, may not happen until later this evening. They are whipping on the Democrat side like crazy. Makes one wonder just who these jerks are representing; the party or the constituents.

………In the end, you get what you ask for so those districts represented by so-called Blue Dog Democrats are sort of left in limbo. How many of them will defy the wishes of constituents to jump on the sinking Pelosi raft? I am just too independent to be strong armed into insanity. I am highly unlikely to let a reckless bunch of under performing liars dictate to me. Then again, I am very unlikely to be able to secure enough votes to make a difference as a politician.

………Given the fact that we now spend, as a nation, $7,500.00 per year, per person for health care then it would remain safe to assume that a little bit of reallocation of dollars would solve the problem. That would mean, no additional spending, no additional debt, everyone covered. We cannot offer executive Cadillac plans for everyone. We have to offer a minimal plan; either catastrophic or concentrating on basic coverages. Even the poor need to be responsible for some small percentage of their health care costs.

………Given what we spend now, that means that the system absorbs approximately $30,000.00 per year for each and every family of four. We need to reallocate and get with providing medical care. We need to define exactly what medical care is going to include. I am for the basic Western practice of medicine. If you prefer acupuncture then pay for it out of pocket. If you prefer chiropractic, then pay for it out of pocket. This comprehensive nonsense is beating us into the ground. The real winners in all of this fiasco are the special interests and the lobbyists.

………Chiropractic at best is an extension of a regular physicians services. They have no lab facilities, they are not surgeons, etc. Go to a Chiropractor with appendicitis and watch the outcome. Take your child with an illness and see how quickly they pinpoint the first signs of a cancerous growth that is only detectable in the confines of a medical lab. We need to apply some common sense to the situation. If in the end, we offend some professions, so be it! We need some sanity and a fix. If we allow every alternative medical treatment to flourish, we as a society will suffer tremendously.

………Congress also needs to be required in the system. No special perks and we need to make sure that there are levels of coverage. Millionaires like Speaker Pelosi and Senator Boxer need to pay for their vanity surgeries. They need to be held financially accountable for unnecessary procedures that fiddle with the aging process. A huge number of the uninsured are younger and choose not to carry appropriate coverages. These people are irresponsible. I have also purchased coverage through my employer because I was raised to understand the importance of that coverage. I always opted for the highest deductible because I was able and willing to pay for the regular medical costs. It was really the protection against the unexpected that I was guarding against. I wanted to make sure that I had some measure of catastrophic care.
