………The current crop of Congressional liberals obviously feel that doing anything is superior to doing nothing. What we need right now is for the Congress to take its time and to do a proper job in terms of reforming health care insurance. They need to be more thoughtful, take a more painstaking approach and work a lot smarter. These quick ideological fixes are just not destined to work for the taxpaying public. The idea behind reform should be to make corrections that leave the system in better shape than it was found. Health Care is not a government giveaway. The Pelosi plan as it stands would take health care from 16% of the economy to over 21% of the economy. That is just sheer madness; political style.

………I have two U.S. Senators, Patty Murray & Maria Cantwell, who are neither very effective nor intellectually gifted. They both have interesting stories to tell but that is about the end of any compelling reason for even being. Both were marginal state legislators and were able to gain acceptance through some notion of a populist mentality. Patty Murray is perhaps the best overall example of a politician being so inept that her only compelling source of support comes from the fact that she is a dependable Democrat vote. She cannot help Boeing, the State’s largest employer. All too often she is a day late, a dollar short and woefully unable to navigate the dangerous political waters. Her advancement to a position in the Senate was shortened when it became obvious that she did not have the organizational nor intellectual skills to get the job done. Since that time she continues to languish in the trenches, providing nothing more than a consistent vote for the most liberal of legislative initiatives. She is neither bright nor insightful, just dependable. She is tightly managed as her range on any particular issue is completely laughable. She once told an audience of High School students that Osama Bin Laden sponsored daycare centers in Afghanistan.

………That has to be, perhaps, the most ridiculous statement ever made by a sitting member of the United States Senate. Where does anyone, even a blithering idiot, come up with something like that? She is totally out of her league even amongst her fellow liberal buffoons. Maria Cantwell is just as anonymous. She used her time in the Washington State Legislature to carve out a cushy job with a Seattle High Tech firm. During her time there she accumulated millions of dollars in stock which she parlayed into a U.S. Senate Seat. Since then, we have lost Boeing HQ, jobs and many other signs of our one time prosperity. Cantwell is easily as inaccessible as Murray. I am sure that her big time financial supporters get easy access to her office and time. She has done nothing that I would consider very noteworthy but she may disagree. I would be interested in hearing her take on her time in the United States Senate; It might actually provide a really good laugh!
