As of today, September 8, I am pretty much decided as to the ballot measures and candidates that I will be supporting in the upcoming November elections. I am going to list some of the races, candidates where I will be throwing my support. In instances where I do not list a race or a candidate, that means that I do not support the candidate running unopposed. Read the rest of this entry »
Anderson Cooper, the CNN Anchor, son of fashionista Gloria Vanderbilt, needs to get a clue. His probing style is usually off base and his liberal slants are often laughable at best. His ratings are poor to say the very least and his style reflects why that is the case. Read the rest of this entry »

……….………. his first year the President has taken the time to travel to various Muslim countries and present himself as a great healer. On the other hand, at the same time, he has made it apparent that a visit to Israel is out of the question. Instead, earlier this week, the President sent his inept Vice President to meet with the Israeli leadership. In my eyes that is an intentional snub. If you have followed the Palestinian initiative over the years common sense would direct you to the fact that they have no intention of reaching an agreement with the state of Israel. They are using their position in an attempt to gain International sympathies by actually thwarting the process. Read the rest of this entry »
……….Things are beginning to get a bit more interesting on Capitol Hill at this hour. The House just voted overwhelmingly to send a request to the House Ethics Committee to look into the issues surrounding the behavior of former New York Congressman, Eric Massa. The Ethics Committee is not bound to follow this House Resolution but if they decide to ignore it, things could get very messy for the Speaker and the House Leadership. The Republicans are asking about when the Speaker knew details of Massa’s behavior and what she may have known. More than 400 members of the House vote affirmatively for hearings to take place regarding this matter. Read the rest of this entry »
……….As the melodrama continues to play itself out the President is headed to St. Louis. This battle is being played out between liberal and moderate democrats, the House & the Senate, among other groups with common ideologies. The Republicans are staunchly against this bill and the process that has been responsible for bringing it forth. The President is not being honest and part of that is perhaps because even he does not understand, fully, the nuances contained within these two competing bills; House and Senate. Some of the basic issues that pertain to this massively proposed change include the reasons for dramatic yearly increases in the overall cost of health insurance premiums. Much of the problems that need to be addressed are directly related to the nonsense that can be directly associated with federal practices and policies. Read the rest of this entry »
……….Within the past few days I posted blog number 1,000. In some ways that is a real milestone in the first 250 days of my blog. Only one time that I can recall, did I not post at least one blog for the day. That was a week or so ago and I had some other issues that kept me from doing what I had grown accustomed to doing on a rather regular basis. I have a lot of subjects that I am anxiously looking forward to posting particular blogs. I will be writing a number of pieces about local politics and the cost of ignorance. I will blog about our local County Port Commission and their silly real estate deals over the past decade plus. They have clearly demonstrated that they have no idea about how to manage or promote economic development. With tax monies from property taxes and the state, the monetary aspect has not been a hindrance thus far for these clueless political types. Read the rest of this entry »
……….I admit, I have high expectations when it comes to the employees of any organization. I expect employees to be curious, informed and alert; especially when I have a relevant inquiry. Today I called the WA State Insurance Commissioner’s Office. The receptionist answering the phone was very cordial and actually quite helpful. The questions that I asked her, were answered quickly and cheerfully. I appreciated her candidness and her professionalism. When the questions got a little more in depth, she suggested that I speak with a compliance officer. She thought that a compliance officer might be better able to provide some more specific answers to my questions. Read the rest of this entry »

……….Recently Real Clear Politics published a piece on the state of polls, state by state, as to the existing situations for Senate & Houses races in 2010. Being from the state of WA I was curious to see early results for Senator Patty Murray. The current Senator, a 3 term incumbent, is shown against 2 challengers. The first, Don Benton, is a current member of the WA State Legislature, the other, Dino Rossi, is a former WA State Legislator and two time challenger to current Governor, Christine Gregoire. ……….Paul Akers is a lesser known candidate for the United States seat held by Senator Patty Murray for nearly 18 years. Akers lives in NW Washington state, the Bellingham area. He is an entrepreneur, has his own company and he is an innovator. For me, that makes him a problem solver. He may be one of the most viable candidates to enter the Republican side, in this race. I am not sure about his name recognition but recently I have seen one of his ads, twice, on cable television. The ad caught my attention and I used Bing to locate his website, the URL is provided above. Read the rest of this entry »
