According to the President of the United States the Middle Class constitutes somewhere in the neighborhood of 97% of the population. That is a real crock, regardless where you put yourself politically. The middle class is perhaps, at the very most, 68% of the population. However, if you ever had a class in either Marketing or Sociology you might understand that much of America is made up of the great upper lower class. Read the rest of this entry »

I have the supposedly known email addresses of the Chelan County PUD Commissioners. However, I find that if I did not have them, I would find it very difficult if not impossible to find them on the PUD’s website. That is an interesting state of affairs as the Commissioners themselves have been engaged in a propaganda war to provide cover for their asinine views with respect to Fiber Optic. It appears that they would love to have the public believe that the corner has been turned and opposition for the extravagance of Fiber Optic is waning. I don’t believe it for a moment. You need to send this link to your friends if you are within the district and oppose the continued waste being heaped upon the electric ratepayers of the Chelan County PUD. Politically, you can call yourself anything that you want. I call myself a Conservative. On the other hand, I have written extensively so that others may see what my core political beliefs happen to be. I am prone to vote Republican almost 100% of the time and when I have an objection to a candidate, I usually choose not to vote in that particular race. Any number of times, at the local level, I have stayed out of a race because I found both candidates to be sorely lacking with respect to acceptable credentials. Read the rest of this entry »

Over the past few months I have been battling back from Acute Renal Failure. During that time I have missed some of the key stories in the local news. I have also been battling a general reluctance to write and take on what I consider to be the big story. Now that I am healing and doing somewhat better I will tackle a story that appears to have a more complex set of twists and turns than might be obvious to the casual Cashmere gossip. We are consistently among the most expensive states in the Union for gas. The national average today (8/26) is about $2.729 for a gallon of unleaded regular. We are about $.40 per gallon more than that. Now some of it is attributable to higher gas taxes but the lion’s share can be set at the feet of BP. Much of our gasoline comes from North Slope oil companies, like BP. BP, for instance, needs to pay for its mistakes in the Gulf of Mexico. In the end, we are clearly paying a heavy financial price to bail them out. Last year we were buying gasoline that was closer to $.17 per gallon higher than the national average. Now this additional $.23 per gallon is coming from somewhere. If anyone has a better idea, please share it.

……….It was announced a few hours ago that the federal deficit for February was the highest monthly deficit ever, for the out of control United States Government. In the month of February it is being reported that approximately $220 billion more was being spent than we actually took in. As far as percentages are concerned, the tax receipts nationwide are down approximately 7% while spending is up a whopping 17%. If you sharpen your pencil and put it to paper, it should be very obvious that fiscal responsibility is not a priority with this Congress and the Administration in place. We need a notion of fiscal frugality! Read the rest of this entry »

……….Blow hard Barack Obama, President of the United States, was in PA today, once again attempting to gain some traction on his senseless health care proposal. He continues to make claims, promises and to raise objections targeting more conservative members of Congress. He continues to promise that the bill that Congress will eventually vote on has all of the bells and whistles that the public really wants. The underlying problem is that this President has continually lied previously. He has most assuredly shown that his word is mightily flawed in the eyes of the general public. He continues to press forward, demonstrating his resolve with little or no evidence that his words are tied to any semblance of truthfulness. Read the rest of this entry »

……….You have to love those politicians thinking that no one is watching when they move to behave in very uncharacteristic manners. The three mentioned above are all Democrats but both parties have their fair share of scoundrels. It is being reported that Edwards, the former Senator, Primary Presidential hopeful and Democrat V.P. nominee may soon be indicted for his alleged behaviors with respect to the Rielle Hunter episode. It has long been thought that some of the monies filtered to Hunter were in direction violation of election law. If that case can be made then Edwards will need some sleight of hand when it comes time for his sentencing. Read the rest of this entry »

……….Our President’s insatiable appetite for what he gladly refers to as investments, are no more than frivolous spending sprees. His spending is not specifically targeted to assist America. Rather, this screwball is using your tax dollars and your children’s future to reward both sketchy projects and questionable groups. His spending behaviors clearly demonstrate that he is disorganized and clueless when it comes right down to how your money should be intelligently & respectfully managed. ……….Ever since Bedrock Buh-rock proclaimed, yesterday, “I am the President,” I have wanted to remind him that now is the time to start acting like he is, in fact the President. This guy needs to get clue. He needs to acknowledge the fact that he has the political instincts of a three-legged race horse. He needs to accept the fact that his style of constantly campaigning is wearing thin on the electorate. Finally, he needs to understand quickly that what worked last year is not selling tickets this year. In the end, you may be the President, Mr. Obama, but now you need to start acting like it!
