………This article was sent to me by a dear friend while he was teaching Economics as a Full Professor at a Connecticut University. He was provided a copy by a friend of the author and actually has used it over the past few years in some of his classes, to spur thought among his students. This piece was later published in a local CT newspaper. I find it to be compelling and an alert to those of us concerned about the direction of our government over the past 30 years. Read it and enjoy. I hope that you get a strong and central message from this posting. Read the rest of this entry »

I have never been infatuated with the group that calls itself Main-Street Republicans. I would prefer if they called themselves Independents or liberal Republicans or Democrats. They seem to be all too willing to support more liberal candidates in general elections. This year, I have seen a number of this ilk out quietly supporting our Senior Senator, Patty Murray. When statistics are accurately presented to make a point they never lie. The presenter is either going to be honest or dishonest with the results presented. Unscrupulous people, for years, have finagled the results to build an argument when their side is losing, badly. Read the rest of this entry »

Self-Proclaimed civil rights activist Al Sharpton should learn something about civil rights as-well-as civility. Dr. M.L. King, JR. drew crowds that were predominantly black but King’s issues were not about color. Rather the issues raised by Dr. King related far more to civility and humanity, as opposed to some sort of selfish barbarism. Read the rest of this entry »

Over the past few months I have been battling back from Acute Renal Failure. During that time I have missed some of the key stories in the local news. I have also been battling a general reluctance to write and take on what I consider to be the big story. Now that I am healing and doing somewhat better I will tackle a story that appears to have a more complex set of twists and turns than might be obvious to the casual Cashmere gossip. It is now official, Elin (Nordegren) Woods is now divorced from Tiger “jackass” Woods. Tiger would have us all believe that he loves his ex-wife but ridiculous behaviors surely bely that notion. I am glad that Tiger is now alone to contemplate and meditate in peace. In short, this champion dullard is free to continue with his out of control lifestyle. Read the rest of this entry »

……….………. his first year the President has taken the time to travel to various Muslim countries and present himself as a great healer. On the other hand, at the same time, he has made it apparent that a visit to Israel is out of the question. Instead, earlier this week, the President sent his inept Vice President to meet with the Israeli leadership. In my eyes that is an intentional snub. If you have followed the Palestinian initiative over the years common sense would direct you to the fact that they have no intention of reaching an agreement with the state of Israel. They are using their position in an attempt to gain International sympathies by actually thwarting the process. Read the rest of this entry »

……….Democrats love to accuse conservative folks that their letters, comments and general feelings are all based on the notion of Republican talking points. I for one have no canned talking points and have not nor will I ever solicit talking points from anyone. Now it seems, once again, the Democrats are beginning an assault on talk radio. They make it easy for their silly followers. Get this, they even provide talking points to those interested in joining in the fray. When you need guidelines, talking points and other supposedly helpful suggestions, perhaps you should focus on a different calling. I prefer legitimate debate, not some contrived half-baked politically motivated diatribe. Read the rest of this entry »

……….The President, unlike the dangerous African snake, is predictable. Like the African snake, this President can be lethal. He uses trickery, sleight of hand and other machinations to push forward his hardly robust agenda. This President has an obsession with the absurd and lying. He loves to propose legislative initiatives that would challenge our rights as United States citizens. He likes the look of a central government that controls much of our economy. I see a less than robust economic recovery as this administration attempts to usurp our rights and powers and replace them with clandestine powers of the state. Read the rest of this entry »
