Recently, more conservative elements of the right had to pressure the NRA to withhold its recognition of Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid (D NV). It seems that the policy of the NRA only revolves around 2nd Amendment issues. In the case of a Senator Reid, he can do significant damage prior to negatively impacting our second amendment rights. ……….Democrats love to accuse conservative folks that their letters, comments and general feelings are all based on the notion of Republican talking points. I for one have no canned talking points and have not nor will I ever solicit talking points from anyone. Now it seems, once again, the Democrats are beginning an assault on talk radio. They make it easy for their silly followers. Get this, they even provide talking points to those interested in joining in the fray. When you need guidelines, talking points and other supposedly helpful suggestions, perhaps you should focus on a different calling. I prefer legitimate debate, not some contrived half-baked politically motivated diatribe. Read the rest of this entry »
……….Beau Biden, son of Vice President Joe Biden and Delaware’s Attorney General has decided not to seek the Senate seat that his father held for nearly four decades. Instead, the younger Biden is actually saying that he will seek another term as Attorney General. I would have to think that the stunning developments in Massachusetts signaled to Biden that perhaps this would not be the right time to parade out his liberal ideas at a time when they may not be so welcomed. ……….The President and his band of Merry Men continue to dawdle on issues that are resonating with the American public. In the end, this President is not an accommodating sort and he will most definitely not move to the center if Martha Coakley loses as expected. As I have mentioned repeatedly, this President has absolutely no political instincts. Another inherent weakness is that President Obama is such a prisoner of his own hubris that he would never be able to, in any timely manner, acknowledge that his failures were due to his own seriously flawed plans. ……….I find it interesting how the Democrats squeal when form Vice President Cheney addresses the press and the country. Criticism is one of the curses that goes along with the Executive Branch of our government. Jimmy Carter, former President, is perhaps the most infamous former President with respect to speaking out and actually trashing the sitting President and his administration at the moment. Dick Cheney is merely acting on his position as an American citizen. I take my right to dissent seriously. Obviously Vice President Cheney has stepped on some toes by taking his right to dissent seriously as well. Read the rest of this entry »
……….The Democrats are beginning to regroup, looking for some little bit of salvation. Senators like Blanche Lincoln (D,AR) and Ben Nelson (D,NE) are falling all over themselves given their latest poll numbers. Nelson has 3 more years until re-election and Lincoln is up this year. Nelson has discovered that his ploy has not been well received by many in the state of Nebraska. I am waiting for Evan Bayh (D,IN) to come out of hiding and weigh in on the situations as it now exists. As an advertised Moderate, his voice has been soft, if not completely silent. If the lunatics running the Democrats in Congress continue with their frivolity, things will only get worse. Read the rest of this entry »
……….For the second time in less than 24 hours a sitting U.S. Senator has said they will not be seeking re-election in 2010. Dodd is a five term Senator from Connecticut and has recently fallen out of favor because of a some scandalous behaviors. One of the unforgivable behaviors relates to his unwillingness to deal honestly with the desires of his constituents. This will give the Democrats time to rally the troops and come up with a worthy candidate. Unfortunately for them, their ties to the Obama Administration and notions about Health Care reform will most likely doom them as well. Read the rest of this entry »
……….In a turnaround last night, Senator Ben Nelson, (D,NE), decided that the bribe was just enough to bring him to his senses and cast an enlightened vote for Health Insurance Reform. His tune changed so quickly and the only thing that was given to Nelson and his constituents was a promise related to Medicare / Medicaid that his state would never again be billed for their share of the expense related to the coverage. That was a pretty good deal, considering that Nelson sold his soul (or sole). Read the rest of this entry »
……….Federal Reserve Chairman, Ben Bernanke, has been named Time’s Person of the Year for 2009. He will be featured in an upcoming issue of the magazine and at that time it will be revealed as to what he did or did not do that made him the choice for this level of recognition. The Person of the Year has a long tradition and does not necessarily indicate that the person chosen made a positive contribution to the country, region or world. The perfect example would be found in the identification of Adolph Hitler, during WWII, as Time’s then Man of the Year. Read the rest of this entry »
………This is a reprint of a previous blog. I decided to run it again as today while I was on some errands the number of drivers, almost all of them female, with cell phones out and in use was uncanny. In almost every instance, that I noticed, they were distracted beyond what I might consider acceptable. In my state, it is a secondary offense to drive while talking on the cell phone. I am one who believes that it should be a stopping offense. The general lack of attention is startling, to say the least. Read the rest of this entry »
